NLC to hold 13th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference in Abuja

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC 13th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference has been scheduled to hold Tuesday, 7th February, 2023 at the International Conference Centre, ICC Abuja.

Chairman of the committee organising the conference, Comrade Babatunde Goke Olatunde revealed this on Thursday at a press briefing, while addressing journalists at the NLC National Headquarters, Abuja.

He assured all the invited guests, local and international, and their members that all the necessary arrangements and logistics to ensure a successful conference have been put in place.

“We wish to inform the general public of the 13th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC. The theme of the conference is “BUILDING PEOPLES’ POWER, NATIONAL UNITY AND QUEST FOR A NEW SOCIAL CONTRACT”

“The National Delegates Conference of the NLC is the highest decision-making organ of the congress. In addition to making decisions to guide the business of the congress in the next four years, the next national leadership of NLC will be elected at the 13th NDC. We will be expecting delegates from all NLC 49 affiliates covering all the sectors of the Nigerian economy and foreign guests.” he said.

Olatunde noted that there will be a pre-Conference Central Working Committee meeting and the National Executive Council meeting scheduled to hold on 6th February, 2023, adding that all affiliate unions President & General Secretary as well as state Chairperson of NLC will be present.

Among the activities slated to hold during the conference is also the commissioning of the NLC Hassan Sunmonu Court, the same day in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja.  

“In the evening on Monday 6th February 2023, there will be a Dinner/Award Night at 7:00 pm in honour of the outgoing National Administrative Council members of the congress” he said.
