MNDA organized a 2-day training programme for staff

Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, MNDA has organized a 2-day refresher training in the administrative procedures of the public Service.

The training, which was organized by the Economic and Empowerment Department of the Ministry is aimed at improving the quality of service and enhance staff performance.

The overseeing Director, Mr. Alfred Abah who was ably represented by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Ms. Patricia Deworitshe made this statement during the official opening of the training, on Tuesday 17, 2022, in Abuja.

The training according to the Overseeing Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alfred Abah, would sharpen the skills of the staff of the department, adding that the Civil service needs training and retraining to ensure excellent professionalism.

Mr. Abah said that owing to the very important role of the Department in the Ministry’s scheme of things in actualizing its mandate in the Niger Delta region, it has become imperative for the department to equip its staff with the required skills to enhance their service delivery to the people.

He further admonished participants to take advantage of the training programme in achieving success. He advised participants, to be focused and pay rapt attention to details of the training.

Speaking earlier, the Director, Economic Empowerment Department, Engr. Ndiomu Philip explained that the two-day training programme organized by the department was to boost staff capacity in memo writing, monitoring & evaluation and report writing. He said with this, the staff would be able to complete assigned job related tasks with greater efficiency.

The former Director, Economic Empowerment Department, Mr. Akanya B.A, during in his goodwill message noted that the purpose of the training would be of benefit to the staff considering the nature of their engagement in project implementation, evaluation & assessment of the positive impact of such projects on the people.

One of the participants, Mr. Erhabor Augustine who expressed gratitude to the management of MNDA, explained that the training was long overdue and that the specialized refresher training programme would further equip staff in implementing service delivery to achieve the Ministry’s mandate.
