Expatriate found dead in his office in Lagos

An Indian national, Devendra Singh was found dead in his private office on Egbeyemi Street, in Ilupeju area of Lagos State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and said that investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding Singh’s death.

It was learnt that the expatriate hung himself in his office in what is suspected to be suicide.

Singh, 42, is a field worker at the Agro Nigeria Limited, Ikeja. He was driven to his office by his driver last Friday, April 29, and he exited the car for his office.

However, at close of work, Singh did not come out of his office.

His driver did not hear any respond after calling his line multiple times so he peeped through his boss’ office window and saw his body was dangling from a rope.

The driver immediately alerted his boss’ colleagues.

Singh’s body has been deposited in the mortuary at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba.
