DIG Nwobodo honoured with award of excellence

Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Godwin Chijioke Nwobodo, rtd, has been bestowed with an award of excellence by group of journalists, for his dedication and selfless service to humanity.
Nwobodo defies the stereotyping of the regular Nigerian Police and has an enviable track record of being a patriot, hard working and perseverance anywhere he found himself serving.
For about 35 years he invested his life in the Nigerian Police force and trained generations of professional police men and women at the Police Academy.

DIG Nwobodo (rtd) holds a Bachelor of Science, Bsc in Biochemistry from the prestigious University of Ibadan, and went on to study Law at the Imo state University and was called to the Nigerian Bar thereafter.
Relentless, he pursued MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology at University of Ibadan. In 2017, he earned a rare privilege of a fellowship at the Nigerian Defence College, where he researched on National Defence Management and Strategic Studies.
DIG Nwobodo (rtd) has served in various International and National capacities such as Investigator for the United Nations Missions in Haiti, Assistant Commissioner of Police, where he worked with the National Central Bureau-INTERPOL and as Deputy Inspector General of Police; he was Head of ICT of the Nigerian Police Force.
In the different fields and positions held by DIG Nwobodo, he continued to distinguish himself and served selflessly until his retirement on the 12th of August 2019.
Responding to the gesture accorded him, he expressed appreciation to the group that presented the award, saying that the award will spur him to do more good things he has been doing for the benefit of humanity.
DIG Nwobodo rtd said, “With this award, I now understand that whatever one is doing, people are watching, so the need for one to render quality services cannot be overemphasized.”
