Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has inaugurated flood early warning system equipment in Umaisha, Toto Local Government Area of the state. Gov. Sule, while inaugurating the project in Umaisha on Wednesday, urged the people of the community to protect the project in their interest and for the overall development of the state. He said that the commissioning of the project was part of activities to mark his two years in office as he emphasized the need for people to jealously guard government projects in their areas. “I am here as part of activities to mark my two years in office and to meet you and hear from you in order to take the state to the next level of development. “It is important that I speak with the community who are directly involved in the project. “The project looks like small project to you because it is automated. It is very expensive project because of the amount of money we have invested in it I call on you to do your best to protect the project. “If you protect the project, by the grace of God, the time that there is going to be flood, the equipment will warn the community that there is going to be flood, ” the governor said. The Governor told the monarch and other stakeholders that the visit was mainly a thank you visit. “I have started my campaign here and I am also starting my meet the people tour in Umaisha. “This is to commission projects, thank the people and to hear from the stakeholders and the people in order to move the state to the next level of development, ” Sule said. In another development, the Governor has commended Ohimege for promoting peace in his domain. The Ohimege Opanda in his speech commended the governor for his efforts in ensuring peace and security in the area as well as his developmental efforts in the state. He has appealed to the Governor to deploy more troops to the area in order to tackle remnants of bandits and kidnappers in the area. “I also want to appeal for the establishment of tertiary institution such as College of Education and College of Agriculture in Toto Local Government Area of the state and rehabilitation of Toto/ Umaisha road. The first class traditional ruler called on the people of his domain to support Gov. Sule for second tenure. Earlier, Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda, the Executive Chairman, Toto Local Government Area commended Gov. Sule for being up and doing in ensuring the development of the state. He has assured the governor of his people support to his administration to succeed. It was reported that Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the state legislature, a renowned business tycoon Arc. Abu Seze among other prominent citizens of the area were among dignitaries that attended the event.
