By Mohammed Ahmed/:

The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Rtd. Col Samaila Yombe Dabai, during a live programme with Vision FMs, Birnin Kebbi on the issue of insecurity in the State with reference to Zuru Emirate, said the bad eggs will be fished out.

The Deputy Governor said, since inception of the present administration under the able leadership of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, much priorities have been given to security matters, thereby putting in place unrelenting efforts to ensuring sanity and bring back peace in the land.

He further disclosed how such efforts (including deployment of security agents and appointment of Special Adviser on Security from the axis) at border communities minimised cross border attacks to Kebbi communities.

Samaila Yombe Dabai described people of Zuru Emirate who in search for farmlands, migrated to border communities of Zamfara State on the Axis of Danko/Wasagu East were later affected by cattle rustling, kidnapping, abduction as well as rape.

He further added that the community saw the need to complement security agent’s effort due to inadequate manpower and formed a vigilante group known as Yan Sa kai when the situation escalated to parts of Bena between late 2018 upward.

Though vigilante efforts is believed to be replica of the situation in Northeast that aided security agents, Samaila Yombe Dabai however decried mode of operations of the Yan Sa kai by shifting focus from complimenting in fighting crime to interference into civil cases and killings without due process accordingly.

“I just came purposely to attend this program and go back to Zuru as series of meetings are taking place in the area on how to go about tackling the menace and no compromise, we must stop that non sense and secure our fatherland”. The Deputy Governor added.
