The National Executives Committee of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN has declared that based on the judgement delivered by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria on 13 October, 2020, Alhaji Musa Mohammed, still remain the National President of RTEAN.

The Legal Adviser to RTEAN, Barrister Suleiman Shuaibu, at a press conference organised by the Union in Abuja during the weekend, deflated the news in the public domain that one of the agrieved members went to court of appeal to appeal for the judgement delivered in favour of Alhaji Musa Muhammed at the National Industrial court, Abuja.

Barr. Shuaibu, while addressing journalists at the press conference, stated that no appeal was filed as speculated in an interview conducted by an individual as regard to the case delivered.

He said that as far as they union is concern, no appeal has been filed in the court challenging the judgemnt as claimed by some individuals in a media interview.

According to the Legal Counsel of the association, going by the judgement delivered by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria on the 13 of October, 2020, Alhaji Musa Mohammed is still the National President of RTEAN.

“In the same interview granted, we were made to understand that they were appealing on the premise that the National Industrial Court of Nigeria does not have jurisdiction to entertain this suit.

“I want to make it clear that by the versus of that judgement already passed, Alhaji Musa Mohammed, still remain the National President of the association” He said.

He urged all the members of the association, the Nigerian public and government agencies and parastatals dealing with RTEAN across the country to ignore the alleged interview and the purported appeal.

“I am sure that the National Executive of RTEAN has written letters to all the necessary agencies of government, notifying them the outcome of this judgement.

“Until this judgement is set aside, it still subsists, and as far as i am concern, the judgement of the National Industrial Court, bringing him in, legalising his position as the National President of RTEAN, subsist and he is still your President.

Barr. Shuaibu said, “In the course of this contestation, this suit was filed and it was heard legally on the 13th of October, 2020. The case was eventually delivered and one person eventually emerged the winner and that is the person of Alhaji Musa Mohammed, as the National President of RTEAN.

Now, the the two persons who laid claim to the Presidency, whom hithato were dismissed from the association, one of them really escaped and that is a person of Ariyo Osakpowan and he is still say to be a member of the association. But Alhaji Shehu Musa Isiwele is still a dismissed member of the association”
