NCPC boss tasks Church leaders on pilgrimage sponsorship


The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam has tasked church leaders in Nigeria to encourage the sponsorship of Christians to the Holy Land.

He made this disclosure in Abuja recently while playing host to the leadership of the Methodist Arch Diocese of Abuja who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

In the words of the NCPC boss “We need sponsorship of your church members.”

He stressed the need for synergy between NCPC and the Methodist church.

Rev. Pam emphasized the need to see that Nigeria becomes the first country to take the highest number of pilgrims to Israel on Holy Pilgrimage.

The NCPC helmsman explained that while in Israel the Bible comes alive because pilgrims would feel the touch of God, adding that it is important for Christians to see the earthly Jerusalem while waiting to see the heavenly Jerusalem.

He intimated his guest that the Commission plans to introduce the Pilgrims Saving Scheme to enable intending pilgrims save for Holy pilgrimage.

Earlier the Archbishop of the Methodist Arch Diocese of Abuja, Most Rev. Joseph Job told the NCPC boss that he was at the Commission to congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment.

According to him, “We are here to congratulate you because we know you are capable, having been tested and proven.”

He stated that the Methodist Church under his watch has been sponsoring their members to Israel under the banner of Jerusalem Pilgrimage Council, as he also expressed confidence that under the leadership of Rev. Pam, NCPC would grow from strength to strength.
