2020 Christian Pilgrimage: NCPC conducts online medical examination for medical personnel

The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC in conjunction with the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, has conducted online medical examination for the selection of medical personnel that would participate in this year’s pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Greece and Rome.

Speaking during the medical examination, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev.Yakubu Pam who was represented by the Director of Operations NCPC, Rev. Amos Yohanna said that the Commission is in earnest preparing for this year pilgrimage exercise.

He explained that the medical examination was organised for the selection of qualified medical personnel that would give medical care to Christian pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage. In his words, “the well being of our pilgrims is our topmost priority”

Rev. Yohanna explained that the Commission would ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process.

According to him, “Only the best candidates from the thirty six states of the country including FCT will be selected”. “The medical examination will strictly be based on merit”

He further explained, that the successful candidates would embark on a 3 day orientation to be enlighten on their duties and the expectation of the Commission during the pilgrimage exercise.

Earlier, The Chairman of the Federal Medical Committee Dr. David Atuwo admonished the participants to be of good behavior during the examination process.

He encouraged them to put in their best in the examination, adding that the successful candidates would be selected based on merit.

In his words, “Those who will be successful will be given proper orientation on and the etiquettes of the profession”.

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB Mr. Ishaq Oloyede,represented by the Directorof Information, JAMB, Mr. Okoro Fabian, explained that the examination is conducted on behalf of the Nigeria Christian Commission .

He assured the participants of transparency during the exercise as he also urged them to observe the protocol of Covid 19 and maximize the time allocated to them to write the exams.

The online medical examination was held simultaneously at the JAMB offices in the six geological zone in the country.

About 144 participants participated in this year’s online medical examination with strict adherence to Covid 19 protocol.
