Displaced Adara women, children takes to street begging for survival in kaduna


As numbers of herdsmen terrorists attacks and killings skyrocted, some displaced and homeless indigenes of the terrorists ravaged communities in kajuru local government area of kaduna State, mostly affected by the storm have taken to streets and residents, begging for alms for survival.

Investigation revealed that majority of those involved in the acts of the street begging are women and children who came all the way from kajuru local government area of kaduna state into the state capital because of hunger.

Our correspondent who monitored the trends in Sabon Tasha, Angwam Boro in kaduna suburb and environs reported that the affected people moved from across residences, begging for what to eat, after introducing themselves as Adara.

He said some of the sympathetic, pair and ills looking victims, sometimes pushed their ways into unlocked premises and began to knock on doors of residents for assistance especially morning and afternoon times.

Adaras, who are majorly indigenes and inhabitance of kajuru local government area, a distance of about 70 killomters from the kaduna metropolis, have consistency been ravaged by attacks, killings and displacement by purpoted hersdmen.

All efforts to get the reactions of the leadership of Southern Kaduna Probe Union , SOKAPU, proved abortive as both the president and spokesman, Hon Jonathan Asake and Luka Binniyat could not respond to enquiry.

However, one of the victims who spoke to our reporter with tears running down the cheeks said she lost her husband in one of the many attacks sometimes ago.

SOKAPU has consistently appealed to kaduna state and federal government as well as international Community and NGOs to come to their aid in supporting the increasing IDPs with relieve materials and medical assistant but no responds.

A repprical of begging incidents are also met in some parts of kaduna North where teenagers deprived of the Almajiri system of street begging now sweeps round strategic areas in town with object in hands, pretending to be looking for odd jobs of washing and cleaning of cars and others.
