Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, has said getting admission into the institute is not stressfull, once you has the necessary requirements.
Dr. Fara who made this assertion on Friday in a visaul interview with Aspheric news, disclosed that NITT runs certificate, diploma, advance diploma, post graduate diploma among others.
He announced that admission into the institution is open to every Nigerian, with requisite requirements and as well, willing to pick up a course in the institution, saying that they have their centres in Lagos, PortHarcourt, Ebonyi, Gombe and Kano states.
According to the DG, “NITT is a public institution, every Nigerian has equal opportunity to attend and learn. Once you have all the admission requirements, you will get admission. It is open to everybody”
The DG disclosed that they are in the process of publicising their line up programmes and activities of the institution for public notice, adding that within short period of time, many Nigerians will get to know more about NITT.
Dr. Farah urged Nigerians to come to NITT and learn transport logistics considering its importance to the economy of the country, saying that the institution is ready to train whoever avails himself to learn the available courses.
“The major challenge of transport system in Nigeria is that most drivers are not trained. I subscribed that every driver should attend the traing and the institution has various training programmes. Companies should send their drivers to NITT for training” he said.
Speaking on the welfare of workers in the institution, Dr. Farah averred that the NITT is working towards chanelling new condition of service of workers to the appropriate authority for approval, adding that once government approves it, workers would begin to enjoy the it accordingly.
“Workers have been very supportive and they are hardworking as well. They have been performing well in their various duties and we are proud of them” he said.
