Katsina State Government in collaboration with Islamic Development Bank is to build 361 primary health centres.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari who revealed this in an interview with newsmen said the health centre will be constructed in each ward across 34 local government areas.
Masari said the health centres will be equip with necessary health facilities and manpower adding that the centres are complement the existing health centres in the state.
He said his administration has commenced recruitment of over 1,000 doctors, nurses and other health personnel.
“So far, we have recruited over 2,000 doctors and nurses within the last four years to address shortage of manpower at our various hospitals,”
Masari explained that the recruitment will be a continuous exercise, adding government will continue to sponsor training of health personnel within and outside the country.
On COVID 19, Masari said the state has so far recorded 399 cases with 21 death.
He said Katsina local government has the highest cases of 250 while Daura local government recorded 84 cases.
Masari explained that his administration has constructed four different isolated centre for COVID 19 patients.
He said although, government has relaxed lockdown over some weeks ago, however the law banning oeration of Islamiyya and Quranic School is still enforce.
He further said government has banned all form of street begging in the state, warning that any person caught begging will be deal with according to the law.
