Covid-19: South Africa cases stands at 32,000


As coronavirus continued to spread despite efforts put in place by various countries of the world to curb it, the number of coronavirus cases in South Africa has increased to 32,683.
According to the data available, numbers of cases rose on Sunday from 30,097 after 1,716 new cases were declared.
The death toll has also increased from 643 to 683.
On Saturday, the country crossed the 30,000 mark for the first time.
Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize, who then reported 1,727 new cases, made the cumulative total to 30,967 with 32 deaths.
With the current development, South Africa now has Africa’s worst experience from the virus, in terms of caseload.
Egypt, which is the second worst-hit has 24,985 cases but a higher death toll of 959.
