COVID-19: Jigawa records first case, as Governor lockdown Kazaure LGA I

Jigawa state, North West Nigeria on Monday confirmed its first case of coronavirus.
The state Governor, Muhammad Badaru made the disclosure at a press conference in Ditse, adding that the patient was found in Kaxaure Local Government Area of the state.
Badaru stated that Kazaure Local Government will be lockdown from today’s midnight for seven days to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Governor said that the infected person had been sent to an isolated centre in Dutse, the state capital, adding that investigations is ongoing to trace his contacts.
Badaru asserted that all his contacts would be isolated until the outcome of the test results to be carried out soon.
He however urged all the residents of the state to remain calm as they collectively work to get ride of the pandemic from the state.
